I'm baaaaack!

Did you miss me? Didn't think so! ;)

So I saw today that Aerosmith and ZZ Top announced their tour dates.
Anyone plan on catching them this summer?

I'm not a HUGE fan of either band (don't get me wrong, I like some of their stuff), but I bet it's going to be a great show for their hardcore fans.

What do yall think of the guilty verdict for Phil Spector? He had it coming. Plus, he is CREEPY! This is the guy who created the "Wall of Sound" and produced for so many awesome people way back when?! Scary how some people turn out.

That's all for today, folks! Hope everyone had a fabulous Easter weekend with their loved ones. :)

Yeah, Phil Spector is indeed creepy! I saw ZZ Top years ago at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center in upstate New York. I'll never forget it because during the concert I thought for sure I had paraquat poisoning--ha! You probably don't know what that is--ah, the beauty of youth!

XOXO

hahaha paraquat poisoning...but did that stop us?

I added your blog to my roll coz I thought i was going to get a blast from the past, in the form of some long lost tune, on a regular basis...

life is full of little disappoinments, eh?

I think concert tickets are too high priced. I saw everything i needed to see in the 70's, 80's and early 90's. The last concert I went to, Eagles, I paid way too much to watch the show on a the big screen.

Welcome back and keep up the good work with this blog. I enjoy your writing. Phil Spector produced the Beatles "Let it Be" album much to the chagrin of the group. Paul and John always thought it was overproduced but they couldnt come to an agreement at the time. They werent even talking I dont think.
Linda...Paraquat???

Spector is as creepy as they get! I know he's regarded as a musical genius but if you compare Let it Be to Let it Be...Naked, it's easy to see that sometimes it's best to keep things simple. His wall of sound was more like a wall of garbage that you had to rummage through to find the real meat. I think if he was taken out of the Let it Be equation the album wouldn't receive a lot of the negative treatment it unfortunately receives.

@ Linda Lou - Gotta admit, I had to look "paraquat" up on Wiki. :)

@ chihuahua - I agree, concert ticket prices are ridiculous. But it is what it is. If you have the money to get some decent seats, then in my mind it's totally worth it.
I saw the Eagles in September and paid an arm and a leg for a mediocre seat, but it was still an amazing show. I recently paid an arm, a leg, and then some for Eric Clapton/Steve Winwood tickets. But it's going to be an AWESOME show!

@ Dan - Thanks!!

@ Jeff - I definitely see where you're coming from. Very true.

But I saw them all, some many times, most at least twice for anywhere between 12 and 50 dollars...

fortunately someone else paid for the Eagles ticket

Yeah, I saw all these bands in the 60s and 70s and the most I ever paid for a ticket was $25 for scalped Led Zeppelin tickets in 1977. Face value was about $15. Most concert tickets were less than $8, but then again a movie only cost about $2.

But that was then, and this is now. Inflation and improved venues have driven up the cost of concert tickets, but I still like to see some of these bands again...even at inflated prices.
