Try, try, try to understand

Wow... I just noticed that I haven't posted since Monday. Yikes! Sorry guys. Things have been busy around here. This week was the last full week of classes. I've got class Monday and Tuesday, then finals start on Friday (a week from today). I've got finals Friday, Monday & Tuesday. I'll be spending most of Tuesday packing up my room... then early Wednesday morning I'll be hitting the road to make the 9 hour trek back home!
So my guess is that I won't be posting too much these next couple of weeks as I'll be busy studying and moving out! Wish me luck on everything :)

On to the music...

Saw this article about new material from Heart next year, with more lead vocals from Nancy. Interesting. Not sure how I feel about it. I guess we'll all have to wait and see.
Ann's got such a powerful voice! Check out this video from 1976, when they were weren't "big" yet (as you can tell from Ann's intro):

Argg it's not letting me embed, so just click the link - it's worth it:

I distinctly remember jamming out to this song with my mom and brother when we would make the 4 hour road trip to visit my grandparents. Timeless!

Have a great weekend!

Okay, so I got tagged with this "8 Things" thing... here goes:

8 Things I’m Looking Forward To:
-Finish a successful first year of college!
-James Taylor concert in a few weeks :)
-.38 Special, REO Speedwagon & Styx concert!
-Going to the U.K. with my family in June!
-Eric Clapton & Steve Winwood concert!
-Getting my last English class and my last History class out of the way.
-Seeing the new dog that joined our family last week!
-Hmm... basically I'm just excited for an awesome summer!

8 Things I Did Yesterday:
-Woke up far too early (7:15am).
-Went to class.
-Ate some yummy black bean tacos at lunch.
-Met with my Intro to Business group to go over our presentation. I had to present this morning in front of about 300 kids, but it went well and was no big deal!
-Ate yummy pizza for dinner! The guy that owns the little restaurant knows our order and gives us a nice discount/deal since we're there every Thursday at 7:30pm like clockwork.
-Went to the last Paradigm (worship service) of the year.
-Had some mixed feelings...
-Fell asleep to the Food Network. (It's either that or HGTV!)

8 Things I Wish I Could Do:
-Carry a note... I try ;)
-Gymnastics like in the Olympics. Always fascinates me.
-Win the lottery!
-Have my own room to myself. (Only 12 more days! Woo hoo!)
-Drive somewhere far away just out of the blue.
-Buy all the coolest bootlegs that I can get my hands on.
-Go back in time and be a teenager in the '70s. (But only for a few important days because I can guarantee you that I'd be creeped out being around a bunch of high hippies...)
-Sleep with lights/noise.

8 Shows I Watch:
-Life on Mars (U.S. version - I know it's over now, but in my opinion it was sooo good!)
-The Office (c'mon... that show is hilarious!)
-Desperate Housewives
-One Tree Hill
-Anything on HGTV
-Anything on Food Network
-Late Night with Conan O'Brien (he just cracks me up!)
-Extreme Makeover: Home Edition - I bawl like a baby every time.

Heart will always hold a special place with me. The first week of my freshman year at college, I met a couple of girls who asked me to come in their dorm room to listen to "Dreamboat Annie". We quickly became friends. One of them got married that summer and I was in her wedding party. It's amazing how fast you can bond with people over music.
BTW -- Do awesome on your finals!!

My Dad and I took a long road trip in the summer of 1976 and "Magic Man" was one of the songs on an 8 track tape that provided the soundtrack. (there were many others) Good work!
