Happy Birthday to Elton John!
Elton John turns 62 today! He's currently out on the road with the piano man, Billy Joel. Anyone catch their show? I've heard it's pretty awesome!

About Classic rock girl!
I'm a college student who grew up two decades too late and missed out on some fantastic music. I relive those years through this blog, by talking about anything and everything rock music related from the '60s, '70s, and '80s-- with some of "today's" music thrown in for good measure. Enjoy!

What a perfect song. The melody and words are known by young and old because of the talent of Elton and Bernie. Have never seen Elton or Billie but I am sure they put on an awesome show. They have enough great music to never sing the same song twice.
I have not seen this most recent concert with Elton John. I first saw him in the mid '70s when I was in high school. He was touring with Kiki Dee -- anyone remember her?? A group of us quietly went awol for the afternoon from school so we could get the best tickets (no online Ticketmaster then). We got seats on row 13 and it was an awesome event!!
@ Dan - Agreed! It's amazing to me that Bernie would write the lyrics, send them to Elton, and after a few minutes of sitting at the piano, he'd have the perfect music to accompany those words.
@ Carolina - That must have been awesome!! :)
"Hold me closer Tony Danza."
That one gets me every time!! :D
